I use these to start my house plant cuttings on when the growth point takes off. The plants that like to climb such as scindapsus, philodendron and my monstera peru cuttings. Saves a lot of money if you're someone who roots a lot of cuttings and when I get several going I combine them into a pot for the bigger, more expensive pole, such as a moss, tree fern, or chunky mix pole. You can also use jute to wrap together two or three pieces of these shims for a taller surface.
